Update NCP Resource Definition

An NCP resource definition comprises the following information:

• General Description
• Monitoring Definition
• Automation Log Details
• Owner Details

Each type of information is entered on a separate panel. You can either scroll through all of the panels by pressing F8 (Forward), or select a particular panel to update from the list.

To update an NCP resource definition

1. Enter U (Update Resource Definition) next to an NCP on the NCP monitor.

   The ResourceView : Panel Display List appears.

2. Enter S in front of NCP Monitor General Description.

   The NCP Monitor General Description panel appears.

3. Complete the details, as required.

   Note: For information about the fields displayed on each panel, press F1 (Help).

4. Press F8 (Forward).

   The NCPMON Monitoring Definition panel appears.

5. Complete the following field:
   • Monitor Interval

     Sets the frequency for monitor samples to be taken. This can be from 5 to 60 minutes.

6. Press F10 (EditLst) to select the attributes to monitor.

   Note: By default, two attributes are dynamically defined. If you want to add more to the list, press F4 (Add) to display a full list of attributes that can be monitored by NCPView.

7. Press F8 (Forward).

   The NCPMON Automation Log Details panel appears. This panel defines the resource transient log.

   It is recommended that you accept the default settings for this feature. For more information, press F1 (Help).

8. Press F8 (Forward).

   The Owner Details panel appears. The fields on this panel are for documentation purposes only.

9. (Optional) Complete the fields on the panel and press F3 (Save).

   The NCP monitor appears, with a message that the update was successful.
