NetSpy-to-NetSpy Communication

The NetSpy-to-NetSpy communication interface allows a CA NetSpy region running on one host to communicate with one or more CA NetSpy regions running on other hosts in the same network. This feature lets you coordinate the data collected by multiple regions from one location. This means that you can monitor response time and debug usage problems for your entire network from one region.

For one region to communicate with another region, a session must exist between them. CA NetSpy has several commands and parameters that let you establish NetSpy-to-NetSpy sessions and configure the communication interface to meet your needs.

Benefits of NetSpy-to-NetSpy Communication

The NetSpy-to-NetSpy communication interface lets you do the following:

Display Data Collected by Other Regions

To view current network statistics collected by other CA NetSpy regions, issue a display command from your terminal for one or more regions in session with your local region. The communications interface sends the requested data from the other region to your region and merges the data into the display you requested. For example, if you request average user response times for all applications known to all CA NetSpy regions on your network, this data is merged into one display at your terminal.
