Mapping Line and Cluster Data to NTRI and X.25 Resources

The following scenarios show the information displayed and written to log records based on how you configure the parameters in the STARTPRM file for mapping line and cluster data.

Note: All definitions refer to the DEFINE statements in the STARTPRM file.

Scenario 1: NCP and No Switched Major Node Defined

If you define

You see

ncpname MON=NO

On the Node Monitoring Status Panel:
Switched LU name is not displayed

On the Terminal Response Time Analysis Panel:
Switched LU name
No Line/Cluster mapping

In the Type T and U Log Record Data:
Switched LU name
No Line/Cluster mapping

Scenario 2: NCP and Switched Major Node Defined Last

If you define

You see

ncpname MON=NO
Switched major node

On the Node Monitoring Status Panel:
Switched LU name displayed under the switched major node and switched PU

On the Terminal Response Time Analysis Panel:
Switched LU name
Line name = switched major node name
Cluster = switched PU

In the Type T and U Log Record Data:
Switched LU name
Line name = switched major node name
Cluster = switched PU

Scenario 3: NCP and Switched Major Node Defined Last

If you define

You see

ncpname MON=YES
Switched major node

On the Node Monitoring Status Panel:
Switched LU name displayed under the switched major node and switched PU

On the Terminal Response Time Analysis Panel:
Switched LU name
Line name = switched major node name
Cluster = switched PU

In the Type T and U Log Record Data:
Switched luname
Linename = switched major node name
Cluster = switched PU

Scenario 4: NCP and Switched Major Node Defined First

If you define

You see

Switched major node
ncpname MON=NO

On the Node Monitoring Status Panel:
Switched LU name displayed under the switched major node and switched PU

On the Terminal Response Time Analysis Panel:
Switched LU name
No Line/Cluster mapping

In the Type T and U Log Record Data:
Switched LU name
No Line/Cluster mapping

Scenario 5: NCP having 'NPA=(YES,DR)' and Switched Major Node Defined First

If you define:

You see:

Switched major node
ncpname MON=YES

On the Node Monitoring Status Panel:
Switched LU name displayed under the PLINK, LLINK, LLINK PU and switched PU

On Terminal Response Time Analysis Panel:
Switched LU name
Line name = LLINK
Cluster = Switched PU

In the Type T and U Log Record Data:
Switched LU name
Line name = LLINK
Cluster = Switched PU

Scenario 6: NCP having 'NPA=(YES)' and Switched Major Node Defined First

If you define

You see

Switched major node
ncpname MON=YES

On the Node Monitoring Status Panel:
Switched LU name displayed under the switched major node and switched PU

On the Terminal Response Time Analysis Panel:
Switched LU name
No Line/Cluster mapping

In the Type T and U Log Record Data:
Switched LU name
No Line/Cluster mapping
