Simplify the Identification of an SNA Resource

You can use up to five SNA resource tags to provide a more meaningful description for an SNA resource. When managing resources, you can create filters to select resources based on these tags.

Usually, the tags are defined during the startup of the region by the $RSUSRAX SNA resource discovery exit. However, you can update them through the SNA resource record.

Important! Changes to an SNA resource record are retained only across warm starts of the SNA resource discovery process. If you want the changes to be permanent, update the requirements in the $RSUSRAX SNA resource discovery exit. See the Administration Guide.

To update the tags

1. Enter S beside the required resource from the Network Resources panel.

   The SNA Resource panel appears.

2. Press F4 (Edit).

   The panel changes to a data-entry panel.

3. Complete the following fields:
   • User Tag1-5

     Specifies the text strings you want to use to identify the resource.

     Press F3 (File).

     The record is updated.
