Point And Shoot Menus

The client menus have been converted to point-and-shoot technology, text on a screen that is cursor sensitive. You can now place the cursor on most menu items and primary commands, and press Enter to choose the menu item or execute the command.

Use the following keys to move around the panels:

• Tab key—You can use the tab key to position the cursor to point-and-shoot fields by selecting the Tab to point-and-shoot fields option on the ISPF Settings panel (Option 0).
• Arrow keys or a mouse—You can use the arrow keys or a mouse to move the cursor. If the cursor is positioned on a word or phrase, the action described in that word or phrase is performed when you press Enter.

In the following example, the bolded action items on the menu are now cursor-sensitive fields:

One exception to the use of point-and-shoot is the AddHelp command. This is because the AddHelp command expects the cursor to be on the item for which help is to be added.
