How You Control the Response of TPCF During Allocation Recovery

Allocation recovery is the part of the z/OS allocation process that a job enters when it cannot allocate a suitable online device. During allocation recovery, z/OS assembles a list of allocated devices and a list of offline devices:

• Wait-eligible device list-allocated devices for which a job can wait.
• Offline device list-offline devices that can be brought online for this job.

To control allocation recovery actions of TPCF

Either issue the SETOPTION AUTOREPLY command, use a CA MIA exit routine, or both.
