2.1 ILM Analysis


This section introduces IBM License Manager (ILM) as a
background for discussing the analysis of MSU (millions of
service units) consumption rate, defined capacity, and
soft-capping.

Section 2.1.4, ILM Concepts, defines the terms and explains
the basic dynamics of the elements used in ILM analysis.
Depending on your familiarity with these terms and concepts,
you may find it useful to read this section before proceeding
with Sections 2.1.2 and 2.1.3.
