3.1.2 Running the Postprocessor Reports
The Postprocessor Reports are created in a single job step
that consists of the following logical steps:
o Control statement validation
- Verify that at least one cycle is specified.
- Verify that at least one report has been requested and
that all requests are valid.
- Verify that a valid database timespan has been
specified.
- Establish a list of database files and cycles in the
timespan requested.
- Verify that a summarization break variable has been
specified and that it is valid for the database
timespan specified.
- Abort the report run if any control errors were
encountered.
o Acquire SYSID characteristics
- Read the desired cycle of the HARCPU file in the
timespan specified; find all SYSIDs and their
respective CPU models.
- Create SAS global MACRO variables to control report
production, including the CPU models of each SYSID, and
flags indicating the presence or absence of SYSID data
systems.
- Write environment report.
o Produce individual reports
- Verify that the database file cycles needed to produce
the reports exist in the specified timespan.
- Create selected working input files.
- Generate the reports.
The areas discussed are:
1 - Report Control Statements
2 - Postprocessor Control Card Examples
