8.2 Installation

The modules of the VM Data Transfer Program reside and
operate in both VM and MVS.  It is necessary to install the
product in both operating systems.  In MVS, the product is
installed when the MVS product tape is unloaded and copied
from the CA MICS PSP libraries. In VM, the product is
installed by copying the source code from the MVS central
site or by generating the executable modules.

The VM Data Transfer Program is installed in five phases:
planning for installation, moving the source code from MVS to
VM, installing CMS resident code, setting VM Data Transfer
Program parameters, and installing MVS resident code.
