5.2.1 Minimal Processing Format

The minimal processing format, as its name implies, is the
result of minimal processing of data, so the file formats of
the input and intermediate files are the same. This
formatting is used for creating simple intermediate files,
such as a ditto copy of a VM spool file onto a minidisk or
tape. This format may also be used when subsetting the input
data to produce an edited copy of the input file.
