6.2.1.2 SMF Record Subtype Specification


The SYS and SUBSYS parameters provide a means of selecting or
rejecting certain subtypes of SMF records.  When an SMF
record type is specified in the TYPE option, as described
above, SMF will automatically record ALL subtypes supported
by the record.  If you want only certain subtypes recorded,
specify those subtypes using parentheses immediately after
the SMF record type is specified in the TYPE option.
Examples of record subtype specification may be found in the
System Management Facilities (SMF) manual for the MVS version
running at your site.
