6.3.1.3 Other Account Records

Any product that runs in VM can add records to the CP account
file. This is done by the standard interface DIAGNOSE X'4C'.
Records created using this interface are called "user"
records and contain the userid of the virtual machine
creating the record and a record type code of C0. The
remaining 70 bytes in the record are formatted by the
application within the virtual machine. Several vendor
products, including IBM products, use this interface: RSCS
(whose data is processed by CA MICS), TSAF (Transparent
Services Access Facility), SQL/DS, and others.

Some sites have code (local or vendor created) that adds new
account record types for extending the information provided
by VM. These records and the user (C0) records can be
introduced into the CA MICS VM database through the use of
exits available within the CA MICS Analyzer Option for
VM/CMS. For more information, see Chapter 10 Modification.
