5.3.9.3 VMXCPV Usage Considerations


Special considerations or techniques for using the VMXCPV
File are shown below.

o  The VMXCPV file contains one observation per subchannel to
   a device.  Activity for all areas on the device are
   reported by VM/ESA at the volume level.  To see all
   activity for a volume, the file must be summarized by
   VOLSER.

o  The VMXXDV file contains additional information about CP
   owned volumes.  The MONITOR ENABLE I/O VOL CPVOL command
   allows specification of data collection for CP-owned
   volumes as a group.
