5.3.6 VMX Device Activity File (VMXXDV)


The VMX Device Activity File contains VM/ESA data that
quantifies I/O activity and utilization by device.  Queue
lengths and busy conditions are presented for both devices
and control units.  The file also contains data for devices
eligible for Start Interpretive Execution (SIE) assist and
how they perform in SIE assist.

This file, which is created from VM/ESA Monitor data (domain
1, type 6 and domain 6, type 3), provides device activity
data on a per subchannel basis for any device in the I/O
subsystem.
