5.2.5.3 VMCNDT Usage Considerations

The contents of the VMCNDT depends on the type of Network
device being used. Each observation provides information
about the amount of data moved over a virtual device, VDEV
addresses, and the partner user ID for virtual devices.

The network devices which are accounted for are Virtual
Channel to Channel adapters, IUCV connections, and Virtual
Network Interface Cards (NIC) sometimes known as Guest LANS.

Element NDTNETTP (Network Device Type) identifies the network
device for which the data is being collected.

For NIC, the count of data sent and received is further
broken down into four sub-categories defined by data element
NDTNICTP (Network NIC Type).
