3.3.3.4 Monthly VM Availability Report

This report shows the availability of a VM system on an
hourly basis for the identified day and computing system.

The management objective to be tracked for evaluating the
availability of the VM system is a percentage of the total
time available in the zone of the month represented by the
uptime measured for the VM system.

The only user option that applies to this report is the
Monthly VM Up Time Percentage, which is the target uptime
percent value, generally set to 100, and charted on an axis
of 100.

&VMCMPCT defines the uptime percentage chart axis.  &VMCRPCT
defines the uptime percentage target.  Therefore, to define a
target uptime of 100 percent and chart it on an axis of 100,
code:

    %LET VMCMPCT = 100;
    %LET VMCRPCT = 100;

3.3.4.1, VM Report Options.

Figure 3-62 illustrates the Monthly VM Availability Report
based on a management objective of no outage time (100%
uptime) per zone.  The sample report shown here quantifies
the system available time with the horizontal axis
representing the zones of the five months and the vertical
axis charting the percent of uptime.

The management objective is to not incur any outage time.
Therefore, any time a charted bar fails to reach the 100
percent reference line, the VM availability objective was
missed for that zone in the month.
