6.4 CA MICS VMS System Usage (DEXSUS) Record Descriptions
The CA MICS VMS System Usage (DEXSUS) recording file, named
DEXSUS.DAT, is a VAX RMS sequential file with variable length
records. There are two types of records in the file:
separators and measurements. Separators begin with the
string "DEXSUS-" followed by a separator-type identifier.
Separators may also be suffixed with special measurement
values. Measurement records are placed between separator
records, and constitute sets of data collected from VMS
utility programs or other VMS commands. For some types of
measurement records, such as ANALYZE/DISK, each record in the
measurement set begins with a one-byte type field. In
general, the records in the DEXSUS recording file are all
different in length and format for each separator and
measurement record type.
The CA MICS VMS System Usage (DEXSUS) records are a
combination of fields and records from several VMS Utilities
supported by Compaq Computer Corporation, including:
VMS ANALYZE/DISK_STRUCTURE Utility
VMS SYSMAN Utility, specifically the DISKQUOTA SHOW
command
VMS SHOW command
VMS DCL lexical functions
