3.1 Postprocessor Reports
The postprocessor reports are used to provide information
about hardware and system software in a format similar to the
output of the IBM RMF Postprocessor Program. The purpose of
these reports is to provide RMF data in a format already
familiar to analysts, but to do so from the CA MICS database
rather than from raw SMF records, and to provide
summarization capabilities not present in the IBM product.
Since the format and contents of a given report frequently
vary with different MVS releases and CPU models, the MVS
Hardware and SCP Analyzer reporting software detects these
variables for each SYSID in the unit database, and formats
the reports accordingly. Thus, reports for multiple SYSIDs
with different characteristics are correctly produced in a
single report run.
The following sections describe the reports and their
operation.
