Control Statements › BREAK Statement › Considerations
Considerations
- CA JARS Wizard prepares break total lines automatically. They contain the following information:
- A heading at the left end of the break total line identifies the break level. For example:
JOB NAME TOTAL
- The break total line contains group totals for all numeric fields, except those specified in the glossary or user-defined fields with the suffix (NT). Total for some fields are meaningless (such as the TIME field).
- Character fields specified in the BREAK statement prints for lower level breaks; however, all other character fields will be blank, unless defined by the suffixes (CT), (DF), (DL), or (K).
- You can override page and report formatting at control break lines by using break heading literals or the suffixes discussed in the "Appendix B" chapter.
