Common Connector Operations
Once a connector has been installed on a Connector Server, the Provisioning Server can manage accounts on the target endpoint system provided:
- The Provisioning Server has been configured to allow communication with the Connector Server.
- Any required software components have also been installed on the Provisioning Server.
- An endpoint has been created for the target endpoint system.
With a few exceptions, all of the managed objects for an endpoint system, such as accounts, groups, and endpoint-type specific objects, can have the same operations performed on them. The operations are listed below:
- Add—Lets you add managed objects such as accounts and groups to an endpoint system.
- Modify—Lets you change the value of attributes on an endpoint system's managed objects, including modifying associations between them (for example, changing which accounts belong to a group).
- Delete—Lets you delete an endpoint system's managed objects.
- Rename—Lets you rename an endpoint system's managed objects.
- Search—Lets you query the value of attributes stored for an endpoint system or the managed objects contained by it.
Examples of exceptions are:
- Objects for which renaming is not supported
- Objects that are managed using native tools on the endpoint system rather than directly by the connector and therefore, cannot be added or deleted.
