The PKI Endpoint object does not maintain any connection with the target system. The possibility to connect to the target system or the target system availability is checked during the creation of the PKI Endpoint object. Access to the target system and login to Entrust is performed at the beginning of the processing of every request to manage objects that belong to the PKI Endpoint.

Also, the PKI Endpoint object does not contain Administrator's credentials required to login to Entrust. The login credentials of the Entrust user that exists on the Security Manager System must be used to create an association with that Security Manager System.
