Provisioning Roles and Account Templates

The OpenVMS Default Account Template, provided with the OpenVMS Connector, gives a user the minimum security level needed to access an endpoint. You can use it as a model to create new account templates.

If you use the OpenVMS Default Account Template without modifying it, be aware that:

• CA Identity Manager creates a unique UIC for each account using group 201 and assigns the next available member number in the group to the OpenVMS system.
• CA Identity Manager creates the default logon directory in the SYS$SYSDISK device with an endpoint path the same as the unique name.

If these defaults do not meet your needs, you can always change the UIC group number or logon directly and save these changes to the account template.
