Reconfiguring the Password Synchronization Component
These are the steps to reconfigure an Identity Manager password synchronization component:
- Install the Windows NT Connector after installing the CA Identity Manager Windows Connector (Windows NT or Active Directory).
- Install Windows NT Remote Agent for a Windows NT system. CA Identity Manager Active Directory Services Connector directly manages Active Directory using LDAP.
- Acquire the Windows directory to create an internal representation of the Windows system in CA Identity Manager.
Note: Do not explore and correlate the Windows accounts, because they are managed as CA Access Control accounts. Explore and correlate these as CA Access Control accounts.
- Install the Identity Manager Password Synchronization agent. During the installation process, the Identity Manager Password Synchronization Configuration wizard guides you through the process to set the component as a Windows password interceptor.
- Install the CA Access Control Connector to manage the CA Access Control accounts.
- Install CA Access Control on the Windows system if it is not already installed.
- Acquire the CA Access Control Directory to manage CA Identity Manager.
- Explore and correlate CA Access Control accounts to global users in CA Identity Manager.
- Revise the Identity Manager Password Synchronization Configuration File to reflect the changes from Windows to the CA Access Control Connector.
