To manage a directory, CA Identity Manager must understand the directory’s structure and content. To describe the directory to CA Identity Manager, modify the directory configuration file (directory.xml) in the appropriate template directory.

To provide all the required information, locate all double pound signs (##) and replace them with appropriate values. For example, ##DISABLED_STATE indicates that you must supply an attribute to store the status of a user’s account.
