CA RCM Attribute Mappings

In the CA RCM Attribute Mapping table in the Configure an RCM Connection task, you map CA RCM attributes to Identity Manager attributes. These mappings allow CA RCM and CA Identity Manager to share information.

Note: The attributes defined in the mapping table are automatically updated in CA Identity Manager and CA RCM by the dynamic notification functionality.

When you create the mappings, note the following:

• You can map up to eleven attributes. Four of those attributes are required by CA RCM; the remaining attributes are optional.
  • Required Attributes

    The four required attributes include the following:

    PersonID

    User Name

    OrgType

    OrgName

    These attributes must exist in the mapping table.

  • Optional Attributes

    The optional attributes can be any attribute that CA Identity Manager manages.

    These attributes should correspond to RCM user attributes that you define when you do an import in CA RCM.

    Note: You can view the RCM attributes that are defined for users in an RCM configuration by going to File, General Settings, Presentation in the RCM client tools. On the Presentation tab, select Users in the Field to Show field.

• You can add the mappings in the table directly, or you can create a Properties file that contains the mappings. The Properties file must have the following format:

  RCM attribute=Identity Manager attribute

  RCM attribute

  The name for the attribute in CA RCM.

  Specify the four required attributes as they appear above. The attribute names for the remaining seven attributes depend on the attributes that you define in CA RCM.

  Note: The RCM attribute names must match the attribute name specified in the defaultmapping.xml file for the CA RCM Connector for CA Identity Manager.

  Identity Manager attribute

  The display name for an attribute in the Identity Manager user store.

  Save the mapping file using the .properties extension in a location that is accessible from the browser where the User Console is running.

• The following table shows the default mappings when CA Identity Manager uses a single user store and Provisioning Directory. You can use this table as a guide when adding mappings.

  Note: If you are using a separate Identity Manager user store and Provisioning Directory, the attribute in the Identity Manager Attribute Name column should be the display name of the user store attribute that is mapped to the Provisioning Directory attribute in the Provisioning section of the Environment Settings in the Management Console.
