Edit the Data Source

To edit the data source

1. In a text editor, open the appropriate data source descriptor located in the jboss_home/server/default/deploy directory. Choose from the following:
   • Task Persistence: imtaskpersistencedb-ds.xml
   • Workflow: imworkflowdb-ds.xml
   • Auditing: imauditdb-ds.xml
   • Object Store: objectstore-ds.xml
   • Snapshots: reportsnapshot-ds.xml
   • Archive: imarchivedb-ds.xml
2. Change the JndiName in the data source descriptor according to the following:
   • Task Persistence: jdbc/idm
   • Workflow: jdbc/WPDS
   • Auditing: auditDbDataSource
   • Object Store: jdbc/objectstore
   • Snapshots: jdbc/reportsnapshot
   • Archive: jdbc/archive
3. Change the DatabaseName, User, and Password in the data source descriptor to the appropriate values for the new database.

   Note: The username and password may instead be in login-cfg.xml in jboss_home\server\default\conf for a newer version of JBoss. To encrypt the password, use the password tool (pwdtools) that is installed with CA Identity Manager. For more information, see the Configuration Guide.

   The database schema (SQL scripts) will be automatically applied when you restart CA Identity Manager.
