Set Up an Account Template that Includes Universal Groups

An account template that is a member of a universal group confers this membership on accounts created using the template.

Follow these steps:

  1. Create a new Active Directory account template.
  2. On the Endpoints tab, assign one target endpoint.

    Note: Ensure that this endpoint is in a forest that will host the universal group.

  3. On the Groups tab, search for the group using the following information:
  4. Select the Universal Group on the result list
  5. Click OK.
  6. Apply the changes to the new account template.

If the universal groups will be used by accounts from multiple ADS endpoints, you can add multiple endpoints to the endpoints list.
