How to Use Multiple Skins

You may want different sets of users to see different skins. For example, the skin for employees may include the company logo and colors. The skin for suppliers could include a different logo and color scheme, and display a company-specific footer.

Note: This functionality requires integration with SiteMinder, an optional component.

If CA Identity Manager integrates with SiteMinder, you can use a SiteMinder response to associate the yourskin skin with a set of users. The response is paired with a rule in a policy, which is associated with a set of users. When the rule fires, it triggers the response to pass information about the skin to CA Identity Manager, to build the user console.

The following steps are involved:

1. A user tries to access a CA Identity Manager environment. (A CA Identity Manager environment is protected by SiteMinder.)
2. SiteMinder authenticates and authorizes the user. The rule in the policy fires, triggering a response that contains information about the skin.
3. The response is passed as an HTTP header variable to CA Identity Manager through the Web agent.
4. CA Identity Manager builds the User Console based on the skin.
