This section describes the known issues, limitations, and solutions for this release.
Symptom:
When I install CA ITCM manager on a system with SQL Server 2012 SP1 installed, the ITCM installation fails with the following error:
Solution:
This error is due to an issue on SQL Server 2012 SP1, msiexec.exe processes run after installation of SQL Server 2012 SP1. When you install CA ITCM manager; as another MSI installer is in progress, the installation fails with the error 1618.
Microsoft has posted a description of the bug and a link to the patch (KB2793634). For example, https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2793634. Also, you can download the fix from Microsoft Downloads section. For example, http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36215.
Symptom:
When I use CA ITCM OSIM to deploy SLES 11.x, OpenSuSE 12.x, Oracle Enterprise Linux, and XenServer 6.x operating systems using the centralized NFS share, operating system installation hangs at the target machine.
Solution:
You can fix this issue in the following manner:
Symptom:
CA ITCM domain manager installation on Windows, Oracle MDB fails, only when ITAM 12.8 is already installed.
Solution:
Follow these steps:
Note: When you do not install ITAM, install CA ITCM and then ITAM to avoid these manual steps.
Symptom:
Staging or deployment of RHEL, SLES, Open SUSE, ESXi, and XEN Server OS image fails if boot server is running on Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 and later versions.
Solution:
Use the boot server on any other supported operating systems. See the compatibility matrix for supported boot server operating systems.
Caf restart triggers Location Awareness rule evaluation when the hidden comstore parameter disable_la_on_all_registers is set to 0 and caf restart does not trigger Location Awareness rule evaluation when the hidden comstore parameter disable_la_on_all_registers is set to 1.
You can create the parameter on the agent machine with the following command:
ccnfcmda -cmd setparametervalue -ps itrm/agent/solutions/generic/LocationAware -pn disable_la_on_all_registers -v 1
Symptom:
Location Awareness evaluation does not include the boundary values of IP address range.
Solution:
Define the expected IP address range with the preceding and succeeding values in both starting and ending directions respectively. For example, if you want an IP address range of 10.10.10.1-10.10.10.10, specify the range 10.10.10.0-10.10.10.11.
Recent Document Settings
CA ITCM delivers a new recent document settings option for all CA ITCM-supported MS-Office applications. You can now select the recent document settings. This option works only if files are available at the same location as before migration. Otherwise, when you click the recent document, it displays a standard system error.
Configure DMM Share Access:
When the DMM network share runs on Windows Server 2008 or higher, the DMM Apply procedure execution fails with a runtime error on some of the target machines during the restoration phase.
Follow one of these steps:
When a particular Computer Group, Software Group or Procedure group is selected, the options to Deploy Software Packages, Deploy SW Group and Deploy procedure Group respectively, are hidden if no selection is made in the right-hand pane of the selected entity.
Symptom:
When I open CA ITCM WAC, Console, Computer and Users, All computers, Host, Inventory tab, Owned inventory, and click any of the following links:
I get the following error:
Solution:
The error is due to a problem with user ca_itrm permissions. You can fix this issue by applying the patch RO65886 available at support.ca.com.
Symptom:
When I run SXP Packager to create a package on Windows 8, I get the following error message:
Solution:
You can fix this issue in the following manner:
For more information, see Prerequisites for SXP Packager on Windows 8 in CA ITCM Packager Admin Guide.
Symptom:
When I run SXP Packager to create new package on Windows 2008 x64, I get the following error message:

You can fix this issue in the following manner:
For more information, see Microsoft documentation.
This release does not support view and management of the External Assets in WAC.
When you change the locale on the browser, logout and relogin to WAC for better functionality.
If you did not install Alert Collector, the command output must not show an entry for Alert Collector.
However, on Windows computers, the caf status cfprocessmanager command shows the Alert Collector process information as empty even if Alert Collector is not installed.
This section describes the changes and revisions in the documentation.
The CHM and Java Help files are not updated for this release.
CA ITCM Release Notes in the DMM is available at Bookshelf_Files, PDF folder in the following languages only:
In the Configuring Asset Management, Collect Tasks, Collecting Delta Values section, ignore the following note:
Note: The agent does not send delta values in case of signature scanning.
In the Implementation Guide, see the following Automated Migration topics for more information about Installing Automated Migration.
Before you can use automated migration, complete the following tasks:
Automated migration uses CA IT PAM to automate the OS migration workflow. To enable CA IT PAM to interact with CA ITCM, configure a CA IT PAM user account in the DSM domain manager.
Note: The CA IT PAM user that you are configuring must have execute permissions in CA IT PAM.
To configure CA IT PAM user account in CA ITCM
Important! Automated migration does not support Sun One Directory Server. If you are using Sun One Directory Server as your LDAP, use a WINNT user account for the CA IT PAM user.
The CA IT PAM administrator is authorized to access CA ITCM to perform the necessary functions. You specify the credentials of this user while creating the migration jobs.
If the DMM network share runs on Windows Server 2008 or higher, the DMM Apply procedure execution can fail with a runtime error on some of the target machines during the restoration phase.
Follow one of these steps:
Enabling Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for Web Console and automation web services lets them communicate over a secure channel.
Follow these steps:
Defines the automation web service URL. Modify the URL to start with https instead of http. For example, https://testmachine.test.com/axis/services/automationService
Defines the CA ITCM WebService URL. Modify the URL to start with https instead of http. For example, https://testmachine.test.com/UDSM_R11_WebService/mod_gsoap.dll
The automation service configuration file contains configuration parameters that automated migration uses for various tasks. In most cases, the default settings help automated migration to work with optimized performance. However, you can modify certain settings to improve the job performance depending on your environment, the load that your servers can handle, and so on.
To modify the automation service configuration file
Note: An integer value in the automation.config file must not contain or be surrounded by spaces. When you specify an integer value in the automation.config file, verify that there is no space, within and around the value. Any space in the integer value can result in the malfunctioning of the automation service.
caf stop tomcat
caf start tomcat
The changes to the configuration file take effect.
In the How to Configure and Monitor the CA ITCM Infrastructure Health, Understand HM Architecture and Basics, Health Monitoring Components, Alert Collector section, read the following notes.
Note: Whenever the FIPS mode is changed, verify the associated Change Action parameter value. If the parameter value is other than Reboot the machine, after the CAF restart you must also restart the following ones to switch the FIPS mode successfully for all the CA ITCM components:
On a Manager or standalone Alert Collector computer:
On a scalability server or agent computer:
In the Understanding Offline Patching Architecture section, read the following notes for Online Export topic:
Note: The CIC installer provides an option for automatic startup at the end of the installation as a service. After the installation, restart the computer to start the service automatically without any manual intervention.
Read the following Accessibility Features section as Appendix-H in Implementation Guide.
CA Technologies is committed to ensuring that all customers, regardless of the ability, can successfully use its products and supporting documentation to accomplish vital business tasks. This section outlines the accessibility features that are part of CA ITCM.
CA ITCM offers accessibility enhancements in the following areas:
Note: The following information applies to Windows-based and Macintosh-based applications. Java applications run on many host operating systems, some of which already have assistive technologies available to them. For these existing assistive technologies to provide access to programs written in JPL, they need a bridge between themselves in their native environments and the Java Accessibility support that is available from within the Java virtual machine (VM). This bridge has one end in the Java VM and the other on the native platform, so it is slightly different for each platform it bridges to. Sun is currently developing both the JPL and the Win32 sides of this bridge.

This section describes accessibility workarounds and limitations.
When you change display settings to High Contrast in the Remote Control viewer, some text can be truncated. Alternate (ALT) text is provided as a workaround.
For the Remote Control viewer, all links are not displayed in the Links List window with Ins+F7. Link list contents can change depending on the focus because there are two HTML views on the Remote Control viewer page.
The links of the HTML view having focus appear in the Links List window. Use the F6 hot key to switch between HMTL views. This hotkey is useful for the screen reader for reading out information displayed on the screen, as the screen reader behavior depends on the focus on HTML view. As there are two HTML views on the Remote Control viewer page, the screen reader reads the HTML view having focus.
There is a known problem with the JAWS® Screen Reading Software when reading windows composed of more than one HTML view. After continued use, keyboard navigation and link activation can become unpredictable.
To improve consistency, we recommend that you disable the "as Web Page" option in the Remote Control viewer or replayer using the View, Current menu. Also, hide the Tutorial Bar whenever it is not in use.
You can also experience better results with the Remote Control viewer by disabling the Virtual PC Cursor using the JAWS+Z key combination.
In the case of the Remote Control viewer, the screen reader and any changes to the display settings do not work for remote sessions.
In high-contrast mode, the Remote Control viewer automatically makes some visual changes to enhance the visibility of the user interface. If high-contrast mode is enabled or disabled dynamically while the Remote Control viewer is in use, refresh the GUI, for example, by switching to a different node, to display the high-contrast changes.
Note: To refresh the RC Viewer Tutorial page, you can click any link in the tutorial.
