How to Connect to an LDAP User Directory Over SSL

Configuring an LDAP user directory connection over SSL requires that you configure Federation Manager to use your certificate database files.

Complete the following steps to configure the connection over SSL:

1. Review the prerequisites for configuring a connection over SSL.
2. Install the Mozilla^® Network Security Services (NSS) utility.
3. Create the certificate database files.
4. Add the root Certificate Authority (CA) to the certificate database.
5. Configure Federation Manager to use the certificate database.
6. Configure the user directory connection for SSL in the Federation Manager UI.

Note: CA Directory does not support this method of configuring SSL.
