How To Copy an Existing Configuration to A New System

The process for replicating a configuration from one system to another is as follows:

  1. Back up the existing Federation Manager configuration that you want to copy.
  2. Return the backed-up system back to its original state.

    To back up the configuration, you deactivate partnerships and disable SSL. After you complete the back up, you revert these changes.

  3. Install and configure Federation Manager on the new system using the exact same settings that were used to install the original system.

    It is critical that when you install Federation Manager and run the Configuration wizard on the new system, you use the exact same settings for the new system that were used for the original system.

    The settings that must match include:

  4. Import the configuration from the original system to the new system.
