You can now use CA-signed certificates for SSL connections to the Federation Manager UI.
Before r12.1, SSL enablement used a self-signed certificate with a default validity of 90 days. Also, you could only activate and deactivate the SSL administrative UI connection. A properly signed certificate determines how long the SSL connection is valid so the duration is no longer restricted to 90 days.
The CA Federation Manager Agent for Windows Authentication enables federated communication between users on systems implementing one of the Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA) protocols with business partners.
For more information, see the Federation Manager Agent for Windows Authentication Guide.
The Federation Manager .NET SDK helps a .NET application to federate with Federation Manager. Using the .NET SDK, .NET applications can provide user information to Federation Manager, and can consume user information provided by Federation Manager.
The .NET SDK uses a global open format cookie to represent user identity and encapsulate the user principal and attributes.
For more information, see the CA Federation Manager .NET SDK Guide.
