LDAP Load Balancing and Failover
Federation Manager can distribute LDAP user directory requests over multiple LDAP servers for failover and load balancing.
For load balancing, Federation Manager evenly spreads requests over the specified LDAP servers. Coupled with failover, load balancing provides faster, more efficient access to LDAP user directory information, with the added benefit of redundancy in the event of a server failure.
ODBC Failover
Federation Manager can distribute ODBC user directory requests over multiple data source servers for failover.
Note: Federation Manager does not support load balancing for ODBC user directories.
For failover, Federation Manager uses one ODBC directory on a server to fulfill requests until that server fails to respond. When the default directory does not respond, Federation Manager routes the request to the next store configured for failover.
A certificate signing request (CSR) is a message you can send to a Certificate Authority to apply for a digital identity certificate. Federation Manager now lets you generate a new CSR for a private key/certificate pair (self-signed or CA-signed).
