Federation Manager Services on Windows Must be Start and Stopped Individually After an Upgrade from r12.0 SP1 (99674)

Symptom:

If you upgrade from 12.0 SP1 to r12.1 on Windows, the Federation Manager services lose their dependence on one another. You can no longer stop or start one service and have the other dependent services stop or start automatically.

Solution:

Stop and start each Federation Manager service one by one from the Windows Services under Administrative Tools.

Stop the services in the following order:

• SiteMinder Secure Proxy
• SiteMinder Proxy Engine
• SiteMinder Policy Server

Start the services in the following order:

• SiteMinder Policy Server
• SiteMinder Proxy Engine
• SiteMinder Secure Proxy
