Set up the Proxy Server or Load Balancer for Failover

This guide assumes that the administrator of the proxy server or load balancer knows how to set up failover for the system in the deployment.

To direct a proxy server or load balancer to failover to Federation Manager

1. Identify one Federation Manager system as the primary host and the other as the secondary host.

   Do not configure load balancing for the systems.

2. Configure the proxy server or load balancer for the Federation Manager deployment, making sure to pass the following URLs to the Federation Manager systems:
   • /affwebservices/*
   • /siteminderagent/*

   These URLs enable the proxy server or load balancer to balance traffic between the Federation Manager systems.

The proxy server or load balancer is now configured.
