Custom Gauge Query Shows Zero Events

Symptom:

A newly-created gauge query displays the pointer at zero events, even when qualifying events are present.

Solution:

You can resolve this issue using the following workaround:

  1. Select the query in the query list.
  2. Click Edit from the Options menu at the top of the list.
  3. View the query in the Query Design wizard, and confirm that event_count is set in the Gauge Settings drop-down list on page 5 of the wizard.
  4. Click Save and Close

The gauge displays the proper event count when run.
