Seven Areas of an Event

When an event occurs there are different types of information expressed as part of the event. This information can describe an entity or the event itself.

Actor - Source

Identifies the entity that initiates the action that causes the event.

Actor - Destination

Identifies the entity that is the target of the action that causes the event.

Event Source

Identifies the entity that recorded the original event.

Observer (SIM Agent)

Records the event and picks up a copy of the original event from the event source.

Event Repository

Identifies the temporary storage for the event until it is recorded by an agent.

Event-Specific

Contains the data such as the event ID, ideal model, event category, and so on.

Result-Specific

Contains the data such as the result and event severity.
