Documentation Changes
The following documentation updates have been made since the last release of this documentation:
- Direct Log Collection—Added the new use cases,Direct Collection from Windows Event Sources and Direct Collection from Database Event Sources.
- Compliance Reports—Added the new use case, Business-Relevant Grouping with IT PAM Dynamic Keyed List Method, to this existing topic.
- Policy Violation Alerts—Added new use cases and updated existing use cases as follows:
- Updated the Custom Alert Definition/Configuration use case with a link to a new section Customizing Queries for Action Alerts, which focuses on creating alerts for high-severity events. Also linked to the updated example for the use case.
- Updated the Automated Alerting by Email use case with a link to new example based on a customer query, Email the Administrator when Event Flow Stops.
- Added the Automated Alerting of Help Desk through CA IT PAM use case, with links to three examples and four other topics for background information.
- Added the Manual Alerting of Help Desk through CA IT PAM use case with a link to one example.
- Added the Automated Alerting of Network Operations Center through SNMP Traps use case with one example where CA Spectrum is the destination and another where CA NSM is the destination. Added links to six related topics.
- Distributed Log Collection with Federated Search Capability—Updated the existing use case with a link to an example of the hub and spoke architecture being promoted with this release.
- API Access—This new feature is addressed with a new section describing the use cases, Outside Product Registration and Embedding CA Enterprise Log Manager Reports or Queries in a Web Portal.
- ODBC and JDBC Access—This new feature is addressed with use cases on Accessing Events from a Reporting Tool with ODBC and Accessing Events from a Reporting Tool with JDBC. Links are provided to new topics and examples for this feature.
- Product Update—Added the new use case, On Demand Method with a link to the procedure for starting an on demand update.
- Diagnostics and Support—This new feature is addressed with a new section describing three use cases.
- The Event Rate and System Health Monitoring use case includes examples for viewing the federation graph and server status.
- The Agent Status Monitoring use case links to a topic on viewing the agent dashboard.
- The Diagnostics Interface and Support Enablement use case addresses system tasks you can invoke from the CA Enterprise Log Manager user interface.
- Virtualization--This new feature supports the installation of CA Enterprise Log Manager servers into virtual machines under VMware ESX Server. Links are provided to new topics for this feature.
- Interface Language Support—This new feature is addressed with an example of setting the browser to display supported CA Enterprise Log Manager interface translations.
- Syslog Event Forwarding—This new feature is addressed with an example demonstrating the use of syslog forwarding to send events for outside correlation.
- Bulk Connector Deployment—This new feature is addressed with an example showing the deployment of multiple connectors of the same type, and on the same platform.
