Keyboard Shortcuts for Navigating and Selecting GUI Elements

This section explains the keyboard shortcuts that CA EEM supports for navigating and selecting GUI elements.

How to navigate list boxes and select an item

To select items in a list box, set the focus using tab key on the list and press CTRL + Down Arrow to navigate through the list of tags. To select any item, press Space Key button. You can find lists such as Live Reports in the Manage Reports tab.

How to navigate a group of option buttons and select an option button

To navigate from one group of option buttons (Non Recurring) to another group of option buttons (Recurring), set focus on the option buttons group using CTRL + Right Arrow keys. To navigate through the option buttons, use the down and up arrows to focus on any option button that you want to select. To select the specific option button use the Space key.

How to navigate through table columns and sort a column

To sort table columns use tab key when the table in the focus to go from one column to another one. Press space bar on specific column to sort it.

How to open event viewer details

To view event details, with focus on an event, press Enter to open the event viewer details window.

How to add columns from the Available Columns table to Selected Columns tables

To select columns from the Available Columns table and move the columns to the Selected Columns table on the Query Design page, press the '+' icon next to a column name. Use this method when you have difficulty in dragging and dropping columns from one table to another.

How to close a dialog

To close a dialog that does not have a Close button, press ALT+F4. For example, the help window does not have a close button. To close it, press ALT+F4.

How to copy single event

To copy an event, press CTRL+C when focus is on any item in the event viewer or the table.

How to navigate a combo box and select an item

To open the list of items in a combo box, press CTRL+Down/Up arrow and press Enter to select the item.
