You use the options in the General tab in the Model Editor to specify the model name, author, notation, modeling features, and to review the model type and target server.
To set general model properties
The Model Editor opens.
Defines the title of the model. This text is used in other dialogs when it is necessary to identify a model by name, for example, in the Complete Compare and Design Layer wizards.
Defines the name of the person who is responsible for creating the model.
Lets you specify either the IDEF1x or the Information Engineering notation preference for a logical model.
Lets you specify either the IDEF1x, Information Engineering, or Data Warehousing notation preference for a physical model.
Activates the dimensional modeling functionality in your model.
Specifies that you want to enforce data movement rules and sources. This enables you to import and create data sources, data source tables, and columns, and assign data source columns to model columns.
General model properties are set and the Model Editor closes.
