Rename a Submodel

You can rename a submodel if the name no longer suits the data, for example a test environment becoming a production environment.

To rename a submodel

  1. Click Mart, Submodel Manager on the File menu.

    The Submodel Manager dialog opens.

  2. Select the submodel you want to rename in the Mart/Library/Diagram/Submodel list. Enter a new name for the submodel in the Submodel Name text box, and click Rename.

The renamed submodel appears in the Mart/Library/Diagram/Submodel list.

Note: You cannot use duplicate names for submodels in the same model.

  3. Click OK.

    The Submodel Manager closes.

Note: Models containing submodels that are currently open or locked do not appear in the Submodel Manager. However, you can use the CA ERwin DM Subject Area Editor to rename an open submodel.
