Using the Default Value Editor, you can create a server default value for a column. The server default value you select for a column is usually the most common value that you store in a column.
In the Table Column Editor, when you click the button in the Default drop-down of the Default option on the Constraint tab, the Default Value Editor opens. It is also opened when you click the New button to create a new default value from the Table Column Editor.
The Default Value Editor provides the following options:
Positions the editor on the previous default value in the Navigation Grid.
Positions the editor on the next default value in the Navigation Grid.
Sorts the default values by alphabetic or reverse alphabetic order. You select the method you want using the drop-down menu that opens after you click the Sort button. Visual cues are provided for how the default value list is currently sorted:
Specifies that the default value list is sorted in alphabetic order.
Specifies that the default value list is sorted in reverse alphabetic order.
Creates a new default value that becomes the current object in the editor.
Deletes the selected default value.
