Add an Entity

You can add an entity to your logical model using the button on the main Toolbox.

Note: If you do not see the Toolbox, click Toolbars, Toolbox on the View menu.

To add an entity

  1. Click in the main Toolbox in a logical model.

The cursor changes to a minimized image of an entity.

  2. Click anywhere on the diagram window.

A new entity is created, with the default name E/n where n is a consecutive number for each entity created in the model.

  3. Type a name for the entity and press Shift+Enter.

The new entity name appears in the workplace.

  4. (Optional) Press the Tab key to add an attribute to the entity.

Note: You can add consecutive multiple entities by pressing the Ctrl key before you click the Entity tool. When you click again in the diagram window, another entity is created.
