Stored displays are used to uniquely arrange, view, and work on the objects in your model. You can create multiple stored displays for each subject area in your model. When you create a stored display, you can:
When you create a model, it always includes one stored display, named Display1. You cannot rename Display1, and you only delete it after you have created a new stored display. When you create a stored display, a stored display tab is appended to the bottom of the diagram window. You can switch between stored displays by clicking the tab.
If you have multiple subject areas in your model, you can create a unique set of stored displays for each subject area. When you switch to a different subject area, you only see the stored display tabs for the current subject area.
You can navigate to stored displays in the Model Explorer, and you can also add, delete, and edit stored displays in the Model Explorer.
In a logical/physical model, when you create a stored display for the logical model, a similar stored display is created for the physical model; also, when you create one in a physical model, a similar one is created in the logical model. By default, when you set a stored display option for the logical model, the corresponding physical model option is set. You can also customize the logical and physical model options in separate stored displays so they are unique. For example, you can create a stored display called Logical and another called Physical and switch between the two stored displays.
Unlike stored display options, some display options apply to the entire model. For example, if you change the background color or the color of an object, the new color applies to every subject area and stored display.
When you save a model as an .erwin file, the stored displays are saved with the model, not as individual files. When you open a model, all previously created stored displays are available.
