Set Export Properties

You can set export properties for a report template to define a report's output format and the properties for the output such as the file path and location where the generated report should be saved. Note: You can change the output format for a report using the Output Type dropdown in the Report Templates dialog, but this setting is not permanently saved in the *.rtb file.

To set export properties

1. Click Report Template Builder, Report Builder from the Tools menu.

   The Report Templates dialog opens.

2. Select the report template for which you want to set export properties from the Available Templates list, then click the Edit button.

   The Report Template Builder dialog opens.

3. Click Properties from the Edit menu.

   The Properties dialog opens.

4. Click the Export tab, select the output format you require from the Export As list, select any additional properties, and then close the Properties dialog. Note: If you need to save the report in a location other than the default location, you can click the ellipsis button to open the Browse for Folder dialog where you can browse for and select another location.

   You are returned to the Report Template Builder dialog.

5. Click Run from the File menu.

   The report is generated and opens in the program associated with the output type you selected.
