Oracle Database Editor

Use the Oracle Database Editor to add and specify the parameters for a database.

You can open the Oracle Database Editor in one of the following ways:

Select Databases from the Database menu
Right-click a database in the Model Explorer and select Properties
Single-click a database in the Model Explorer and click the Property Editor icon

Databases are supported in the following features:

The Oracle Database Editor dialog includes the following tabs:

General Add and specify the parameters for a database.

Logging Edit log groups and add log members.

Tablespace Assign tablespaces to a database.

Comment Add or edit comments for a database.

UDP Enter user-defined property values for a database.

The following describes all of the other options available in this dialog:

Databases
A list box that displays all the available databases defined as physical storage objects in the current model.
New
Select New to create a new database. Opens the Create Database dialog where you can specify the name for the new database.
Rename
Select Rename to rename a database that you select from the Databases list box. This opens the Rename Database <DatabaseName> dialog where you can assign a different name to the selected database.
Delete
Select a database from the Databases list box that you want to delete, and click the Delete button.
Generate
Select this check box if you want to generate DDL for this object during Forward Engineering. If you do not select the check box, no DDL will be generated for this object during Forward Engineering.
DB Sync
Starts the Complete Compare task so you can synchronize the physical objects defined in your model with the information stored on the server.
Close
Click Close when you are done making changes in this editor.
Cancel
Click Cancel to close the editor and discard any changes.

Note: There is no Dependencies tab since no object uses a database.
