Use the Notation tab in the Model Properties dialog to choose a notation for a model. You may want to choose a different notation for the logical and physical models to help you distinguish between them.
To select modeling notation preferences
The Model Properties dialog opens, on the General tab.
Selects one of the following for the modeling notation of the logical model.
Specifies that you want to use IDEF1X (Integration DEFinition for Information Modeling) notation for logical modeling.
Specifies that you want to use IE (Information Engineering) notation for logical modeling.
Selects one of the following for the modeling notation for the physical model.
Specifies that you want to use IDEF1X notation for physical modeling.
Specifies that you want to use IE notation for physical modeling.
Specifies that you want to use Dimensional Modeling notation for physical modeling. You can convert model relationship lines to diagonal lines.
Click OK.
Your selections are saved and the Model Properties dialog closes.
