Use the SQL Server Credential Editor to define the authentication information required for a resource that is outside of SQL Server in a SQL Server 2005/2008 physical model. Most credentials include a Windows user name and password, which are mapped to a login.
To define SQL Server credentials
The SQL Server Credential Editor opens.
Note: Click New
on the toolbar to create a new credential.
Displays the credential name. You can change the credential name in this field.
Defines the name of the account used when connecting outside the server. Use in-place editing to enter or change the value.
The credential is defined and the SQL Server Credential Editor closes.
