The DXmanager configuration uses an inheritance model, that is, items configured at a certain level in the DXmanager Map view will be inherited by all lower levels and ultimately by all the running DSAs that make up the DXmanager controlled backbone.
DXmanager supports four levels.
For example, a “Trace Level” of “Error” configured at the Backbone level will be inherited by all DSAs servicing the backbone. To set “Trace Level” to “All” for an individual DSA, a user can “Override” the inherited default (“Error”) with “All” at the DSA level.
As well as inheritance, the configuration model levels also control where and when configuration items can be edited. For example, it makes sense to configure log file locations at the Host level but not at the Namespace level.
