Install CA Directory

(Optional) CA Directory is a distributed directory for online applications. The CCS uses CA Directory to host the classification cache. If you intend to use CA Directory, you must install it before you deploy the CCS.

To install CA Directory

  1. Download the CA Directory image onto the computer that will host the classification cache.

The CCS installation media includes a supported version of CA Directory.

  2. Disable all antivirus software before installing CA Directory.

Important! If antivirus software is enabled while installation takes place, problems can occur.

  3. Run dxsetup.exe.

    The CA Directory installer starts.

  4. Click the Typical setup.
  5. Continue through the wizard screens, accepting the default settings.

For full details on installation, download the CA Directory documentation from the support site.

  6. When the installer prompts for a trusted machine to manage CA Directory (that is, a machine that is trusted by DXManager), we recommend that you enter 'localhost' to specify the local computer.

Note: DXManager is a separate (optional) that utility you can use to manage CA Directory. You do not need DXManager to successfully deploy the CCS.

  7. (Optional) Set up secure communication between CCS and the cache by configuring the classification cache to use SSL.

To set up SSL, you must register authentication certificates and edit the cache (DSA) configuration file.

  8. Verify that the following services are running:
  9. Re-enable your antivirus software.
